Background

Chris has worked with dogs for 34 years and been involved in all areas of dog care including quarantine at Heathrow, and veterinary work. Chris ran her own boarding kennels for several years, which included a dog grooming and clipping service. Over a lifetime of giving homes to rescue dogs, Chris has gained a large amount of knowledge and experience in dealing with a range of behavioural problems. Her interest in solving these led to studying various canine courses and, as a qualified teacher, eventually teaching on them herself at Community Colleges and Colleges of Further Education. She is still involved in Animal Care National Vocational Qualifications.

Chris has been training dogs for 32 years, including pet obedience; pups; agility; heelwork to music (competing in the latter sports and making senior grades with her dogs); flyball and behaviour problems as well as the rehabilitation of rescue dogs.

Chrisís interests have also led to her into studying and gaining qualifications in complementary animal therapies. There is a growing interest in these, and they can be extremely helpful in treating various behavioural and physiological problems. However, no dog will be treated without written authorization from the veterinary surgeon responsible for the animal.
